- Accurately complete corresponding delivery paperwork and work with production, sales and customers to communicate issues with loads and delivery time
- Work safely to prevent on‑the‑job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times, including proper wearing of company PPE
- Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations
- Ensure vehicle is properly loaded, load secured and product delivered safely and timely
- Inspect vehicle(s) for any safety or operational defects using DOT, maintenance and safety checklists, ensuring emergency equipment is in proper working order
- Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions
- Load truck may require: securing chains across the width of a trailer, both on the bed of a trailer and in an overhead rack, tarping loads on trailers, and dropping and hooking a trailer
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
- Work a 12‑hour shift, including overtime, weekends and holidays
- Perform daily Pre‑Trip, Inter‑Trip and Post‑Trip Inspections
- Deliver products to customers, contractors and jobsites throughout the geographic region
- Set up a sideboard kit around the perimeter of the trailer floor
- Use an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) during operation of the vehicle; driver will be trained accordingly
- Perform additional duties as needed
- At least 21 years of age
- No DUI or DWI within the last 5 years
- No more than one moving violation in the previous 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs
- Pass a company road test
- Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations/requirements
- May work outside under all weather conditions, including heat and cold
- Willing to learn and tackle new challenges
- Effective listening and verbal skills to identify important information and engage with customers
- Speak and understand English in verbal and written communication
- No on‑road preventable accidents during the past 3 years as shown on the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Pass required D.O.T. and CMC Logistics drug testing programs and physicals as required by D.O.T.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (no restrictions)
- Work well with team members or independently; give and receive feedback constructively
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
