As a licensed Certified Flight Instructor who completed ATP's Airline Career Pilot Program, you can expect to earn approximately $3,200 to $4,000 per month * . This is based on providing around 70 hours of flight instruction, 20 hours of simulator (AATD) instruction, and achieving 2-3 check ride passes each month.

ATP values your dedication and offers additional fees for knowledge test proctoring, training center tours, and student no-shows, ensuring your hard work is recognized and rewarded. Our comprehensive fee schedule incentivizes keeping your students on time and on budget, while career advancement opportunities such as becoming a Training Center Flight Standards Instructor or a Regional Flight Standards Instructor can further increase your earnings and build your resume.

Application, Interview & CFI Job Placement ATP Flight Instructor Requirements

Airline Career Pilot Program graduates receive preferential hiring and must meet the following requirements to be eligible for a flight instructor position with ATP:

  • Complete the Airline Career Pilot Program with CFI and II.
  • Fail no more than two practical tests (checkrides).
  • Demonstrate professionalism, adherence to standard operating procedures, and uncompromising attention to safety-focused decisions at all times.
  • Have no prohibitive items on a ten-year background check, as required for airline employment.
  • Apply for an Instructor Position and complete a video interview
  • Commit to an available training center assignment within one week of receiving an offer.
