About the RoleThe Dispatcher plays a critical role in coordinating and managing the efficient movement of vehicles and goods within a fleet, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position requires overseeing daily logistics operations, including scheduling, routing, and communication with drivers to optimize fleet performance. - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in dispatching or fleet management within a logistics or transportation environment.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
- Experience with fleet maintenance coordination and peripheral vision for monitoring multiple activities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with advanced logistics management software and tools.
- Customer service experience, particularly in answering phones and handling inquiries.
- Certification in transportation or logistics management.
- Coordinate and schedule daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies across all fleet activities.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues and provide updates.
- Manage fleet maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Answer phones and handle inquiries related to dispatch operations, providing accurate and timely information.
- Utilize logistics management systems to track shipments, update records, and optimize routing.
- Respond quickly to emergencies or unexpected changes in schedules to maintain operational continuity.
The Dispatcher uses dispatching skills daily to coordinate vehicle routes and schedules, ensuring efficient fleet operations.
