Driver​/Warehouse Operative

Job Description Duties and Responsibilities

• Reinforce the RIS image of being the B2B partner of choice by demonstrating a positive and professional image to our customers at all times.
• Represent RIS by ensuring that personal appearance and that of the vehicle is presentable at all times.
• Effectively plan delivery routes to maximise time/cost effectiveness and to meet specific customer requirements.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and effectively, taking into account product size, weight, and delivery routing.
• Observe the local surroundings and record and report back any potential business opportunities identified.
• Ensure that legal compliance is attained, Health and Safety and Company procedures regarding the use of the vehicle are adhered to at all times to protect the individual and the organisation's interests.
• Support the Branch Network by promoting products and services, and providing advice and assistance to customers regarding the use of the vehicle, ensuring adherence at all times to protect the individual's and organisation's interests.

• Valid driver's license (Category C and CPC license mandatory)
• Proven experience working in fast‑paced warehouse, distribution centre, or logistics environments
• Demonstrated proficiency with manual handling equipment and safety harness operation
• Experience with inventory management systems and stock control procedures
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for accurate inventory tracking
• Solid mathematical abilities for inventory counts and record‑keeping
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in logistics
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for customer interaction and internal reporting
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Proficiency in basic computer systems and data entry
• Physical capability to safely load, unload and handle products of varying sizes and weights
• Resilience and adaptability to work in dynamic, fast‑paced conditions

• Strong teamwork background
• Good knowledge of warehousing systems is an advantage
• Ability to work with detailed information in a structured fashion. Excellent communication and numeracy skills
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions. Understanding of Health & Safety issues

• Conscientious and hardworking individual who can work effectively in a fast‑moving environment whilst maintaining accuracy at all times
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and to deal with several issues at once
