• Review and improve LYNX transit services to boost efficiency and reliability
• Analyze route and performance data to determine areas where transit service can be improved
• Assist with developing route schedules, service plans, and cost proposals
• Prepare performance reports on ridership, on‑time performance, and productivity
• Use transit scheduling software to adjust and develop route schedules
• Conduct field tests and service assessments in real‑world transit environments
• Communicate route and service changes to internal teams and the public

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Business, Statistics, Transportation, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in public transportation, transit scheduling, service planning, or related discipline
• Valid Florida driver’s license and safe driving record

• Experience with transit planning software (Trapeze preferred)
• Knowledge of union contracts
• Experience in transit, planning, or scheduling
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, databases, Trapeze FX or similar software)
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to analyze ridership, traffic surveys, maps, and other data
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings or weekends
• Knowledge of Central Florida’s street and highway networks

This position is responsible for assisting the Manager of Service Planning in reviewing the performance of LYNX transit services and improving the design of such services to improve efficiency. The individual in this position may be required to conduct field tests as well as analyze electronic data from sources such as automatic passenger counter (APC) and automatic vehicle location (AVL) systems to calculate accurate running times.

This position works in close cooperation with the Transportation, Maintenance, Marketing, Customer Service, and Human Resources divisions/departments to develop transit services and produce public schedules.

This position is considered safety‑sensitive and subject to the provisions of the Substance Abuse Program Policy for Safety Sensitive Positions.
