Overview

CORT Events is hiring immediately for a full-time Dispatcher in Orlando, FL! This role will oversee and direct the Transportation and Inbound Operation to ensure they are contributing to the day-to-day functions and to the overall success of the operation. These activities will be performed personally or through subordinates.

Pay: $20/ hour depending on experience.

Schedule: Schedule will vary based on the needs of the business; weekends are required.

• Supervises the daily movement and activities of a team of up to 20 delivery drivers and delivery assistants, managing productivity, performance, customer service, and daily hours.
• Maintains and supervises a fleet of up to 20 trucks, including pre‑trip inspections, preventive maintenance, handling breakdowns, and coordinating additional short‑term trucking when necessary.
• Dispatches by tracking trucks, monitoring progress, logging exceptions, and communicating consistently and timely with drivers, the sales team, and customers. Must route vehicles and assist with routing in V2, with route approval verified by the fleet supervisor.
• Provides updates and communications via two‑way electronic methods, e‑mail, V2, Decartes, telephone, and IM.
• Manages and tracks day‑to‑day flow of all trucks and routes to ensure delivery windows are met.
• Administrative responsibilities: upkeep of daily route schedules, answering phones, solving problems related to customers, driver teams, and internal customers, and escalating issues when needed.
• Ensures safety standards are adhered to.

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience as a dispatcher or similar role.
• Physically able and willing to move furniture; able to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
• Must pass background checks and drug screening as a condition of employment. CORT also participates in the E‑Verify program.
