The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring transportation services to ensure timely, safe, and efficient movement of drivers, vehicles, and/or passengers. This role serves as the central point of communication between drivers, management, and clients, prioritizing service requests while maintaining operational efficiency and high customer service standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch drivers, vehicles, or transport staff according to schedules, service requests, and priority levels

Monitor real-time transportation activity and adjust assignments as needed to address delays, emergencies, or changes in demand

Maintain accurate dispatch logs, schedules, and records using computerized dispatch or tracking systems

Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, clients, supervisors, and other departments

Prioritize transportation requests to ensure on-time service delivery and efficient use of resources

Track driver availability, route progress, breaks, and completion of assignments

Respond promptly to issues such as delays, equipment problems, or customer concerns and escalate when necessary

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Assist with training new drivers or dispatch staff as needed

Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach in all interactions

Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent

Prior experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, or customer service preferred

Proficiency with computers, scheduling software, or dispatch systems

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare transportation, logistics, or fleet coordination

Knowledge of routing, scheduling, or transportation regulations
