Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and/or Dock Lead, assist in loading contributed goods onto and off the trucks and at donated stations. Major duties include securing items to prevent damage, assisting the driver, and assisting in the processing of textile and hard goods products.
Responsibilities- Assist in loading contributed goods onto the truck using correct and proper lifting procedures.
- Assist in loading and unloading store merchandise orders or return items as designated by the Warehouse Manager and/or Dock Lead.
- Assist forklift and warehouse workers in loading or unloading all trucks and placing articles in designated areas.
- Secure articles with ropes and padding to prevent damage as required.
- Responsible for loading empty barrels, hand trucks or other equipment that is necessary for each trip.
- Pack and stack goods with care, when loading and unloading, to prevent damage.
- Assist in processing textile and hard good products.
- Present proper image of Goodwill Industries to the public.
- Maintain appropriate dress code including name badge.
- Will be willing to become forklift certified.
- Assist in baling salvage textile in the manual or automated baler.
- Operate compactor.
- Observe and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Evaluate and stage furniture.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse and/or Dock Lead.

- Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as furniture, with assistance.
No prior experience required.
Math AbilityLevel 1:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
No computer skills are required for this position.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Special Conditions of EmploymentPhysical and Environmental Requirements:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Standing and sitting for long periods.
- Perform work outside and inside; exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, electricity, noise, fumes and chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
