Process Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Process Engineer in Orlando, FL for a one-year contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Process Engineer will support warehouse automation initiatives by designing and optimizing warehouse layouts, developing automated material handling processes, and improving operational efficiency. This role partners with engineering and operations teams to implement scalable automation solutions, evaluate warehouse performance, and support the acquisition of automated processing equipment.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, or Business.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience using SAP Warehouse Management software.

• Eight (8) years of experience with automated end-of-line and logistical solutions.

• Eight (8) years of warehouse operations experience.

• Eight (8) years of experience managing large-scale warehouse automation projects.

• Experience designing warehouse layouts and automation solutions.

• Knowledge of warehouse operations and material flow optimization.

• Ability to evaluate warehouse processes and recommend improvements.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience balancing operational efficiency with business and economic objectives.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with warehouse automation vendors such as Dematic, Honeywell Intelligrated, KNAPP, or SSI Schaefer.

What You'll Do

• Design and plan warehouse layouts that support automated material handling solutions.

• Develop warehouse processes for receiving, decanting, packing, and material preparation.

• Optimize warehouse workflows to improve efficiency, operator effectiveness, and automation utilization.

• Conduct testing and measurements to evaluate material movement times and warehouse performance.

• Analyze automation utilization and return on investment for warehouse solutions.

• Develop processing requirements for the design and acquisition of automated warehouse equipment.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement warehouse automation initiatives.

• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance warehouse operations and logistics processes.
