- The Warehouse and Inventory Operations Lead is responsible for owning day-to-day warehouse, yard, dock, and inventory operations.
- This role ensures accurate inventory control, efficient material flow, safe warehouse operations, and exceptional service to contractors, vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders supporting client’s fiber deployment programs.
- The successful candidate will serve as the local subject matter expert for inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, material transactions, and operational execution.
- Own daily warehouse, yard, dock, and inventory operations for the assigned location.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant warehouse environment.
- Receive, inspect, verify, stage, store, issue, transfer, return, and ship materials accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate ERP/WMS transactions for receipts, issues, transfers, returns, adjustments, and project-related inventory activity.
- Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution activities.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including carrier scheduling, loading, unloading, and shipping documentation.
- Pick, stage, and issue materials to contractors, field operations teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Process returned materials and coordinate appropriate disposition, scrap handling, or damaged material management.
- Monitor inventory levels, material consumption, supply risks, and lead times; elevate shortages as needed.
- Maintain warehouse locations, racking systems, yard organization, and efficient material flow processes.
- Coordinate warehouse-to-warehouse and project-related inventory transfers while maintaining physical and system alignment.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Resolve shortages, overages, damage claims, substitutions, and documentation discrepancies.
- Provide responsive customer service to vendors, contractors, carriers, and internal business partners.
- Escalate safety, inventory, system, and operational issues to Supply Chain leadership.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5 plus years of warehouse, inventory, logistics, yard management, or material management experience preferred.
- Experience supporting telecommunications, fiber, construction, utility, or related infrastructure operations preferred.
- ERP/WMS experience required;
Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred. - Demonstrated inventory control experience with a history of maintaining 99%+ inventory accuracy.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, reporting, transaction processing, and data entry skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.
- Experience working with contractors, carriers, vendors, and operational teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and inventory management skills.
- Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification within company-required timeframe.
- Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds and safely operate warehouse equipment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work on-site are essential.
- Inventory Control and Accuracy: Maintains disciplined inventory processes that ensure transaction integrity and inventory accuracy.
- Warehouse Operations: Oversees efficient, safe, and organized warehouse and yard operations.
- Safety and Compliance: Promotes safe work practices and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
- Customer Service: Provides responsive support to contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Quickly identifies and resolves inventory, logistics, and operational issues.
- Organization and Accountability: Demonstrates ownership, reliability, and attention to detail in all activities.
