Our Engineering team develops forward-thinking solutions that make a real-world impact across both custom equipment and facility-based systems. In this role, you will engineer solutions for mobile and modular laboratories, as well as complex custom equipment, supporting Biopharma, Biocontainment, Pharmacy and cGMP industries.

You will apply electrical engineering theory and design principles to create high-performance, compliant environments and equipment that can be deployed globally. Utilizing tools such as AutoCAD and ETAP, you will design systems and generate detailed specification documents and complete drawing packages that support fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of both equipment and facility infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and support internal and external stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle—ensuring solutions meet technical requirements, regulatory standards, and project goals for time, cost, and performance.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design electrical systems for custom equipment, including control panels, power distribution, and machine interfaces.
  • Develop detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings.
  • Size and select components such as breakers, transformers, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and cabling.
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, NFPA, IEC as required).
  • Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to integrate electrical systems into equipment designs.
  • Support fabrication and assembly teams by resolving design issues and clarifying documentation.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning activities.
  • Design electrical systems for mobile and modular laboratory facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and backup systems.
  • Develop single-line diagrams, panel schedules, conduit layouts, and cable routing plans.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and process systems.
  • Engineer utility connections including shore power, generators, UPS systems, and transfer switches.
  • Ensure designs meet Life Sciences requirements, including cleanroom standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Support facility layout planning, equipment placement, and utility coordination.
  • Assist with site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Documentation & Standards

  • Generate complete drawing packages including schematics, layouts, details, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Prepare engineering specifications, calculations, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and adhere to document control processes.
  • Apply company and industry drafting standards consistently.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all deliverables prior to release.

Project & Customer Support

  • Work closely with project managers to meet schedule, budget, and performance targets.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and contractors to support project execution.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and startup.
  • Assist in troubleshooting field issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.

What Success Looks Like

  • Designs are accurate, buildable, and compliant with applicable standards
  • Projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Equipment and facilities perform reliably in real-world environments
