Role Overview

The General Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. The incumbent must provide strategic direction and operational support to meet the established goals for a medium sized warehouse which carries a broad scope of responsibilities and complexity. They will operate the facility while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures, and interface well with other team members to create a positive work environment and healthy team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a safety culture throughout the facility, ensuring safety is always the #1 priority; maintain a clean environment to support safe work.
  • Plan and organize daily production and operations activities.
  • Measure productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
  • Review and analyze all warehouse activities and costs to drive process improvement.
  • Coordinate with HR, finance, and safety to ensure successful production operations.
  • Oversee the shipping and receiving functions.
  • Determine labor needs to meet production goals.
  • Assist with budget preparation for the operations unit.
  • Coordinate with marketing and sales to determine pricing, timing, and product promotions.
  • Assist with, prepare, and update the organization’s operations manual and policies.
  • Achieve company performance goals, including internal and external KPIs such as Labor to Revenue (LTR), productivity, profitability, and customer service standards.
  • Direct, recruit, train, and develop employees.
  • Organize and oversee the schedules and work of assigned staff.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed, in accordance with company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements of the Position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required and five years of operations management experience in supply chain or related field OR Ten (10) years of operations management experience in supply chain or related field required.
  • Certification through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) preferred.
  • Five years of supervision or management experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Skilled in planning, staffing, budgeting, and organizing.
  • Ability to interpret financial data to set production goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to lead discussions, make presentations, and deliver technical results to a non‑technical audience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, including dealing with ambiguity.
  • Build & lead teams.
Work Requirements
  • Work full‑time onsite at the Real Cold facility.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to access and navigate the production facility.
Physical Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a cold storage facility with exposure to low to below‑zero temperatures. The job may involve occasional exposure to dust, noise, and other disagreeable elements. Noise levels may be loud at times; the environment may be fast‑paced.
