Position: Machine Operator I - 2nd Shift

Summary

Forming and stamping of diaphragms.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties &

Key Responsibilities
  • The forming operator verifies the die set is the correct size and designation based on the part number of the traveler.
  • The forming operator pulls the correct material from the stockroom based on the part number from the traveler and records the heat code on the traveler.
  • The forming operator actuates the press manually and holds for the appropriate length of time according to the material thickness and die size.
  • The forming operator identifies bad parts and marks them out.
  • Stamping operator pulls the appropriate strip from the storage rack and feeds it into the stamper manually.
  • Stamping operator inspects the diaphragms or end plates periodically to ensure no burrs or other defects.
  • After completion, the job parts are placed in a container, marked with the appropriate part number, and moved to the cleaning department with the traveler.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret part specifications on travelers.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
Education & Experience

Desired:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Salary Range

$18.00 - $20.00/Hour based on experience. 2nd Shift receives $1.00/hour shift differential
