Forklift Operator

Position Summary

Pulls, moves, and distributes material and product.

• Inspect product load for accuracy, and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery.
• Move levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams, swivel hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
• Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
• Weigh materials or products, and record weight and other production data on tags or labels.
• Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.
• Signal workers to discharge, dump, or level materials.
• Bring overhead product down to pick bay.
• Return components from work orders while complying with safety rules.
• Stage components for work orders while complying with safety rules.
• Use scan gun equipment effectively to supply components for different departments as needed.
• Follow all EPC Safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and Lean 5S policies and regulation guidelines.

• Minimum one year of previous experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing center, including receiving, pulling orders, packing, and shipping (preferred).
• Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklift, pallets, stock pickers) preferred.
• Ability to obtain certification to safely operate mobile equipment (e.g., forklift, pallets, stock pickers).
• Basic math and computer skills required.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and be detail oriented.
• Ability and willingness to work closely with others and departments.
• Ability to document and communicate properly.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
