Habitech Systems is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development/Outside Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will generate new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with established customers, and achieve sales targets. As the face of the company, you will showcase our products and help customers find solutions to meet their needs.

This is a full-time position with local travel required (note a company car & gas card are provided). We are willing to pay relocation fees for qualified candidates who would move from outside the local area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • New Business Development: Proactively seek and establish relationships with new clients, expanding the company's customer base to build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Vendor Selection and Relationship Management: Select new vendors and maintain and develop long-term relationships with LED lighting and related products.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest LED lighting technologies and products. Effectively communicate the features and benefits of our offerings to clients, demonstrating how our solutions meet their specific requirements.
  • Sales Presentations:
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences, showcasing our products and services.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotes and proposals in a timely manner. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that proposals align with client expectations and company capabilities.
  • Quoting, Proposal, and Reporting:
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotes and proposals, addressing client needs and specifications.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports and forecasts for management.
  • Prepare weekly activity reports for management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market conditions, competitor activities, and industry trends to identify business opportunities.
  • Miscellaneous:
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with prospective customers and solicit orders.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills and be energetic, outgoing, proactive, creative, and detail-oriented.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
  • Call on electrical contractors, wholesale electrical, and construction companies.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of LED lighting technology and its applications.
  • Proven experience in outside sales and account management, preferably in the electrical or related industry.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to understand and articulate LED solutions.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally as needed.
