Deputy Manager - Children's Residential at Exceptional Care Ltd

Location: Tarleton, Lancashire
Pay: £15.50/hr + £60 sleep‑in
Shifts: 2 on / 4 off

Overview

We’re a leading therapeutic children’s care provider in the Northwest, looking for a caring, resilient, and passionate Deputy Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of our children’s home and lead during the Registered Manager’s absence. The role ensures high‑quality care, supports your team, and drives positive outcomes for young people aged 8–17 from complex backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of home management.
  • Lead shift duties, delegate tasks, and ensure all records and care plans meet high standards.
  • Lead care planning and reviews, ensuring compliance with Children’s Home Regulations.
  • Manage staff inductions, supervisions, and appraisals, promoting effective teamwork.
  • Champion young people by supporting their choices, encouraging independence, and responding to challenges with compassion and confidence.
  • Liaise with professionals and agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Manage on‑call duties and consistently uphold company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children & Youth Workforce (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a children’s residential setting.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Experience in delivering care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and complex needs is an advantage.
