Description:

1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher - TRANSITION PROGRAM.

Job Summary:

* Work collaboratively with special services team members to support the academic, character, social and emotional growth of learners.

* Collaborate with IEP team members to design, coordinate, and deliver a rigorous and appropriate education for students with disabilities.

* Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional.

* Maintain due process paperwork according to District, State, and Federal guidelines.

* Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology.

* Establish and maintain high standards for the educational experience of students.

Qualifications:

* Current Minnesota Teaching License required.

* High level of due process expertise required.

* Demonstrated ability to facilitate meaningful discourse in IEP meetings.

* Experience working directly with students in resource room, community and job experince settings preferred.

* Effective classroom management skills.

* Effective oral and written communication skills.

* Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving.

* Experience with curriculum, assessment, and accommodation design.

* Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents.

* Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.

* Positive collaboration with colleagues

* Work based learning licensure preferred

Bargaining Group and Level: Orono Education Association/Teachers

COMPENSATION

Full Year, Full Time

BA Step 1 ($51,256) to EdS Step 20 ($110,239)

INSURANCE

* .75 - 1.0 FTE
