Controller (Temporary Non-Regular)
Non-Exempt, 195-Day Temporary Position, up to 40 hours per week. The intent of this applicant pool is to create a list of qualified applicants who are interested in temporary employment as a Controller at Butte College. Temporary non-regular employment applications are accepted on a continuous basis until the position(s) are filled.
Position Highlights:
Butte Glenn Community College would like to invite you to join our team as a temporary Controller. Butte College is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Controller to join our Fiscal Services team. This is a new position and will report to the Director of Fiscal Services. The Controller will provide comprehensive leadership and technical expertise across all accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will have strong fiscal expertise and a continuous improvement mindset. This position will play a key role in driving efficiency, ensuring strong internal controls, and establishing timely, accurate financial information.
Work Schedule:
The tentative work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Over the summer the schedule changes to Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Friday off.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
* in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration; AND - Five (5) years of increasingly responsible financial and accounting experience including detailed financial reporting; AND
- One (1) year of management and/or supervisory level experience directly related to the responsibilities in this class; AND
- Direct experience coordinating and preparing Annual Financial Audit Reports and implementing new accounting standards; OR
- Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
* Bachelor's Degree education equivalency is a 1 to 1 equivalency, one year of responsible work experience related to the classification for each full year (24-30 units) of college.
