Butte County Credentialing office will complete your DOJ Fingerprint background check and substitute teaching credentialing clearance process for all school districts in Butte County (except for Chico Unified School District). This clearance process must be completed with BCOE Credentialing BEFORE you can be cleared as a substitute teacher in the Thermalito Union Elementary School District.

Comments and Other Information

1) To comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, all new substitute employees must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
2) Persons applying for employment in the Thermalito Union Elementary School District, who receive an offer of substitute employment, will be required to submit to a Department of Justice Fingerprint based background check (completed through BCOE Credentialing Department), a urine drug screen and provide proof of TB clearance.
