The Butte County Department of Public Health is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will work across five divisions with the opportunity to contribute meaningful insights, improve data-driven workflows, and support impactful projects. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of quality assurance policies and principles with a strong understanding of confidentiality practices.

They will develop, manage, and analyze spatial data to support planning, operations and organizational decision‑making.

In‑person position with offices in Oroville and Chico, California. No remote work options. This position is level I and level II. The term is set to end December 31, 2027.

• Level I: $2,567.20 – $3,440.80 biweekly ($32.09 – $43.01 per hour)
• Level II: $2,836.00 – $3,800.00 biweekly ($35.45 – $47.50 per hour)

A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in earth sciences, GIS, computer science, geography, or a related field.
• Geographic Information Systems Analyst I:
  One (1) year of experience working in the design, development, and implementation of GIS.
• Geographic Information Systems Analyst II:
  Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience working in the design, development, and implementation of GIS at a level equivalent to Geographic Information Systems Analyst I.
