How you make a difference

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Dosing assists in the delivery of patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within a correctional healthcare setting. This role supports patient care activities, provides patient education, and implements treatment plans under the direction of healthcare practitioners. The position administers medications, performs clinical procedures, and monitors patient care in accordance with established protocols and nursing practice standards.

The LVN guides care activities consistent with demonstrated competencies and the Nursing Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of individualized treatment plans under the direction of healthcare practitioners.
  • Administer medications, perform laboratory testing and drug screens, and obtain diagnostic tests in accordance with orders and protocols.
  • Maintain controlled substance counts and complete required medication administration and inventory documentation.
  • Respond to health emergencies, apply safety procedures, and assist with medical and minor surgical procedures as needed.
  • Document nursing encounters and communicate patient information with healthcare providers and care team members.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Experience

  • One (1) or more years clinic experience preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state employed.
  • Current CPR certification

$34.20 - $38.00 / hour
