CDL Driver - JWB (Transportation)
Job Summary:
The Commercial Driver possesses a CDL (Class
A) to specifically drive/operate various types of fleet trucks. Our drivers operate and maintain all aspects associated with the fleet trucks. To be considered you MUST have previous experience Driving and Operating one or more of the following:
Dump Truck: 10 wheelers, truck and pups, truck and transfer, end dumps, bottom dumps, water truck, Straight Truck, Fuel Truck, Trailers, Tractors with (10-speed, 13-speed, and 18-speed), and low bed trailers in order to pick up and deliver materials.
- All work takes place outside on public and private roads, jobsites, through all weather conditions.
- Completely and accurately fill out daily paperwork, including timecards, logbooks, and Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) to record hours of service in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by DOT regulations to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle.
- Safely operate vehicles with a gross weight of up to 100,000lbs.
- Ensure loads are properly secured, balanced, and within legal weight limits.
- Meet delivery deadlines while strictly adhering to DOT hours of service (HOS) and company safety regulations.
- Have good judgement regarding site, terrain, and weather conditions for safe equipment operation.
- Perform multiple inspections throughout the day on equipment to check and maintain proper fluid levels, performance of the equipment, etc., using the company checklist as a guideline.
- Continuously conducts safety checks on the equipment (seat belt, fire extinguisher, lights, etc.) to ensure equipment is working properly and safely.
- Safely haul loads from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all safety regulationsli>
- Survey, evaluate and take measures to ensure work area is safe from any dangers (powerlines, utilities, co-workers, etc.).
- Adhere to defensive driving techniques and accident prevention protocols to ensure the safety of the driver, crew, and public while on the road.
- Inspect all attachments to the machinery to ensure that they are operational and take the appropriate steps to correct.
- Reports equipment needs and hazards to supervisor.
- Maintains good housekeeping on equipment and ensures cleanliness and organization in work areas.
- Operates a chainsaw when needed.
- Other tasks may include assisting with other operations at the job site such as maintenance of other equipment.

Regularly inspects the worksite to identify and address cleanliness and organizational issues before they become problems. Reports any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure timely resolution. - Time Management:
The ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. - Safety Compliance:
