Trainee Solar Installer
Location:
South East London & Surrounding Areas
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 (35 hours per week), with flexibility depending on site location

Our client is a growing specialist contractor operating within the renewable energy sector, delivering high-quality Solar PV solutions across residential and commercial projects.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Trainee Solar Installer to join their installation team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous construction site experience who is looking to develop a long-term career within the renewable energy industry. Full training will be provided.
Trainee Solar Installer- Position Overview
- Assist experienced Solar PV installers and electricians with installations across residential and commercial sites.
- Assist with the installation of mounting systems, racking and solar panels.
- Prepare, load and transport tools, equipment and materials to site.
- Operate hand and power tools following appropriate training.
- Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas.
- Follow all company and site health and safety procedures.
- Carry out basic measurements and calculations under supervision.
- Work as part of a team while developing practical Solar PV installation skills through training.
- Position Requirements
- Previous experience working on construction sites is essential.
- Valid CSCS card is essential.
- No previous Solar PV experience required; full training provided.
- Genuine interest in developing a career within renewable energy or electrical installation.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working outdoors, at height and on rooftops.
- Physically fit and able to lift and handle materials and equipment.
- Good understanding of health and safety.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools would be advantageous.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
