POSITION TITLE:
English Language Arts Teacher (9-12)

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper state certification

REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Superintendent

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: New teachers 186 days;
Returning teachers 185 days with benefits provided according to the Teacher’s Negotiated Agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver engaging lessons in literature, writing, grammar, and speaking/listening skills.

Cultivate student voice through writing workshops, presentations, and authentic learning opportunities.

Inspire appreciation for diverse texts, authors, and perspectives.

Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and integrate cross-curricular themes.

Prepare students for success in college, careers, and beyond by building strong reading and writing foundations.

Optional:
Contribute to co-curricular activities such as speech, drama, or journalism based on interests.

Requirements:

Hold or be eligible for a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with endorsement in English Language Arts (Grades 9–12).

Strong communication and classroom management skills.
