** Your Opportunity as the Senior Technologist, Formulation
** By blending hands-on formulation expertise and creative problem-solving you will help bring new and improved Uncrustables products to life! From the lab to pilot plants and manufacturing scale-up, you’ll lead critical development work, collaborate cross‑functionally, and turn bold ideas into compliant, high-quality products that make it to market.

** Work arrangements:
** 70% onsite expectation, travel approximately 20% annually
** In this role you will:
*** Drive formulation development for both new and existing formulas such as Uncrustables Sandwiches and Bread, building subject matter expertise along the way.
* Coordinate and lead laboratory, pilot plant and scale-up for projects at internal and contract manufacturing sites, gaining deep, hands-on knowledge in these settings.
* Apply conceptual and practical expertise in formulation, alongside foundational knowledge of related disciplines, to execute new and improved products.
* Build regulatory knowledge to ensure compliance of formulas with relevant standards, including but not limited to nutrient profile regulations, FDA regulations, and USDA CN regulations.
* Conduct analytical testing, analyze results, and communicate findings through well-structured written and verbal summaries.
* Collaborate with technical team members to establish key tasks and timelines, ensuring the timely completion of goals.
* Actively collaborate within Research and Development (R&D) and leverage cross functional relationships to drive project success.
* Cultivate a continuous learning mindset, actively seeking feedback from colleagues while embracing the company’s Basic Beliefs and Commitment to Each Other philosophy.
* Develop and maintain specific technical documentation within a lab notebook system.
* Provide advisory support to internal groups such as Operations, Technical Services, and Procurement.
* Actively learn about and participate in Smucker Key Element and Quality programs to support R&D.
** What we are looking for:

* Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field
* 2+ years of experience in a R&D lab/facility
* Experience in food formulation or food science/engineering
* Experience troubleshooting and root cause analysis
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects running concurrently
* Foundational understanding of food safety and quality practices
* Food safety foundation – PCQI training a plus
* Ability to translate technical concepts to various audiences
