Our team in Space and Defense Group is looking for a 2nd Shift Process Supervisor to join them. You will report to the Process Manager and will have an onsite Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm - 1:00am work schedule.
Responsibilities- Identify, implement and measure short-term department objectives that align with the overall company strategic plan; motivate and lead team members and coordinate support groups to accomplish area objectives. Directly responsible for the performance of the department.
- Work with the Department Manager to identify areas for lean and other improvement activities to achieve high impact results including increased profitability, productivity and capacity, and reduced internal costs, lead times and inventory.
- Assure maximum utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment to provide optimum productivity at the least possible cost to meet manufacturing schedules and delivery commitments.
- Evaluate personnel for probationary reports, job postings and expectation conversations. Assist department personnel in goal and expectation setting.
- Maintain competent and effective work group by providing technical assistance, training, developing, motivating, and counseling subordinates. Ensure good housekeeping (5S) and safe working conditions; inspect the area daily for unsafe conditions, signs of equipment breakdown, and general untidiness.
- Ensure accurate production records by maintaining employee time reports, attendance and overtime records. Administer personnel policies fairly and consistently.
- Handle employee relations issues to prevent major challenges; investigate reasons for variances from standards and initiate changes to minimize variance and costs.
- Operate/setup machines as required to meet production schedules; perform inspections/first piece inspections.
- An Associate Degree (AS) in a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years directly related experience in a production environment or eight to twelve years of broad and diversified machine shop, special process or A&T experience.
- Working knowledge of functional manufacturing responsibilities and supporting departments.
- Leadership skills, good judgment, strong organizational abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to define and prioritize goals such as reducing scrap and maintaining scheduled lead times.
- Ability to build and maintain teamwork within the department and with supporting departments, suppliers and customers.
- Strong supervisory skills; prior machining experience is preferred; ability to use hand gauges and CMM is preferred.

Salary Range Transparency: Orrville, OH $80,000.00-$95,000.00 Annually
