- Base Pay $20.00 - $22.00 / Hour
Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from machined parts or other manufactured parts using hand tools, small power tools, and automated deburring / tumbling systems. Ensure smooth, defect-free surfaces that meet customer requirements, company specifications, and safety standards. Collaborate with other departments across the organization to produce quality products that are delivered on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:
- Studies blueprints to determine sequence of operations and finished dimensions of work piece.
- Inspects machined parts to ensure correct dimensions and finish requirements.
- Operate deburring tools (grinders, sanders, abrasive wheels, tumbler) to remove burrs, chips, and sharp edges.
- Use hand tools and small power tools to smooth surfaces and prepare parts for assembly.
- Measure parts with calipers, gauges, tape measure, or other inspection tools.
- Operates and maintains parts washer.
- Operates and maintains down draft table.
- Performs quality checks, AQL’s, & in-process inspections.
- Recommends Continuous Improvement Initiatives for work area to supervisor.
- Cross training between work centers and cells.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Maintain and clean deburring equipment and area to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in manufacturing, metalworking, or deburring operations.
Prefer experience with hand and power tools, grinding, sanding, and abrasive techniques.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Strong verbal, non-verbal, & written communication skills. Listens to instructions carefully and can relay information to others effectively. Understands the importance of cross training and working with a team to build a positive culture through relationships, attitude, work ethic, & dependability.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
