The Manufacturing Project Manager is responsible for leading manufacturing projects, cost estimating, and new job introduction activities to ensure alignment with business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role serves as a key interface between customers, internal functions, and external suppliers to ensure projects are executed efficiently and meet customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manufacturing Projects & Program ManagementLead manufacturing projects and programs, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across design engineering, procurement, quality, planning, and production.
Monitor project progress and drive actions to ensure objectives related to cost, delivery, and performance are achieved.
Coordinate vendors and suppliers to support project and program activities, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery meet specifications.
Serve as a customer contact for quotations, cost reviews, contract questions, and changes in requirements.
Engineering, Costing & New Job SetupReview customer drawings, specifications, proposals, and related documentation to determine material, labor, tooling, and process requirements.
Analyze drawings and specifications to assess manufacturing feasibility and process capability.
Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for new and existing jobs.
Analyze existing jobs to establish or update standard costs.
Develop implementation plans to mitigate engineering changes to cost and schedule.
Assist with new job setup activities to include establishing part masters, routings, bills of material, and standard data within ERP/MRP systems.
Ensure adherence to new job startup procedures for successful production launch.
Assist in selection and coordination of outside vendors to support manufacturing requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Process OptimizationIdentify and implement improvements to processes, workflows, and methods to enhance productivity and cost performance.
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing and operational objectives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in fabricated metal, welding, machining, or assembly-based manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with Quick Turn or low volume/high mix production.
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
3–7 years of experience in manufacturing with project engineering, costing, or program management responsibilities.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Experience with cost estimating, routings, bills of material, and ERP/MRP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write complex reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
