Legal Entity Position SummaryThe primary purposes of the Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) are to provide direct patient care, patient and family teaching, and work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary health care team in maintaining standards of nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Department SummaryOur practice has offices located in Carrollton, Doylestown, Massillon, and Orrville with 3 physicians and 2 Advanced Practitioners. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive OB/GYN care to women of all ages.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, active licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required.
- IV Certification, preferred.
- Must adhere to office policy of yearly TB testing, OSHA and HIPAA training.
- Proficient computer skills to complete tasks as required.
- Must be organized, able to effectively prioritize tasks and exhibit appropriate time management skills.
- Must be detail oriented while focusing on safe practices and quality care.
- Demonstrates effective communication.
- Effective appropriate and professional interactions with colleagues/physicians, patients and visitors.
- Comfort with technology and the ability to navigate electronic medical records efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain professionalism in the workplace.

- Documents nursing activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Implements the identified plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Administers treatments and other direct care; prepares and administers medications as prescribed; observes and evaluates patients’ responses to medications and treatments; and identifies and promptly communicates adverse reactions to the Registered Nurse.
- Collects specimens as ordered.
- Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and students.
- Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
- LPN is a patient advocate in conjunction with the other members of the healthcare team and fosters patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
- Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice and applicable policies.
- Adhere to professional standards and guidelines, including ethical actions, relevant statutes, rules and regulations, during nursing practice.
- Exhibits High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools and tones.
- Responsible for timely review of emails, department communications and applicable learning assignments and completion as applicable.
- Checks physician schedules frequently for any add-ons or updates.
- Inspects patient’s medical record prior to visit to insure completeness as well as making sure the results of tests are available.
