SUMMARY
Repairs, installs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as mechanical masts, pneumatic masts, electro mechanical masts, lighting masts, on site and customer locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Requires up to 25% travel (as needed) the majority being in the United States with the possibility of some overseas travel.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Basic knowledge in use of tools and machinery such as hand drills, drill presses, grinders, welders.
- Allocates parts to job orders to create demand for ordering of parts.
- Travels to customer locations for repairs and installations.
- Pulls and packages orders for spare parts orders to be shipped to customer locations.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and read wiring diagrams/blueprints.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, wiring schematics or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Requires Department of Transportation medical card certification.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
