Fleet Maintenance Mechanic – Orrville, OH

Pay That Reflects Your Skills

• Up to $38.31/hr base pay
• CDL Premium:
  Additional $0.55/hr
• $600 annual tool allowance + annual boot allowance
• Overtime available — average workweek is 45–50 hours

2nd Shift:

• Monday–Thursday: 2:00 PM until work is completed (typically 10:00–11:30 PM)
• Friday: 10:00 AM until work is completed (typically ~6:30 PM)

3rd Shift:

• Sunday–Thursday nights

Weekend on-call rotation (~1 weekend/month). If called in after hours (even for 10 minutes), you’re guaranteed a minimum of 2 hours of pay.

• Perform general maintenance on tractors, trailers, reefer units, and yard jockeys
• Maintain and repair truck air conditioning and trailer refrigeration (reefer) systems
• Conduct daily VCR inspections and preventative maintenance
• Road test vehicles and deliver equipment to other locations
• Assist with satellite location maintenance needs as required

Required:

• Experience with truck, trailer, and/or reefer/refrigeration maintenance
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently
• Must provide basic hand tools (company provides specialty equipment + $600/year allowance)
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be insurable with a valid driving record

Preferred (not required — we’ll train the right person):

• Strong reefer/refrigeration experience (our biggest current need)
• Class A CDL (training assistance available)
• Forklift license

Union Details: $100 initiation fee (paid in two $50 installments). Monthly dues = 2.5x hourly rate + $3/month. New contract recently ratified with wage increases.

Start as Semi‑Skilled and advance to Skilled classification based on demonstrated ability — progression happens quickly for the right candidate. Semi‑skilled mechanics are paired with experienced technicians during training.
