Summary Of Assignment
The classroom Math teacher creates a positive learning environment that follows the district curriculum and Washington State learning standards. The teacher establishes relationships with students, parents, and staff, documents progress, designs lesson plans, and applies differentiated instruction. The teacher collaborates with staff, attends department meetings, and participates in extracurricular activities. Ongoing professional growth is maintained through in‑service education, coursework, and active participation in the Professional Learning Community.
GeneralLeadership Expectations

- Prepare teaching materials and reports that implement lesson plans and document teacher and student progress.
- Teach district‑adopted curricula aligned with Washington State Learning Standards.
- Report incidents of child abuse, altercations, and substance abuse.
- Provide clear, focused instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to meet all student needs.
- Administer ongoing assessments and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Establish and maintain a standard of student behavior for a safe learning environment.
- Communicate positively and regularly with parents and/or legal guardians about student progress and expectations.

- Collaborate with staff, administrators, parents, support groups, governmental, and community agencies.

Work EnvironmentThe teacher may deal with a wide range of staff, students, parents, and community members, experience frequent interruptions, and remain flexible. The role involves sitting, walking, and standing, and may expose the teacher to ordinary infectious diseases. Work includes attendance at meetings beyond regular business hours.
Terms Of Employment- Work year: 180 days aligned with the school calendar, plus 4 enrichment days.
- Paid hours: 7.5 per day, including a 30‑minute duty‑free lunch period.
- Work day starts 30 minutes before the student bell schedule and ends 30 minutes after student dismissal.
