Homes 24/7 facility differential: Updated as of July 1, 2025:
This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours.
The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027.
* This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.

- Thursday from 10:00 PM- 6:30 AM. This position is not eligible for telework.

As a Nursing Assistant Certified
, you’ll assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to vulnerable Veterans in need of skilled nursing care. You’ll have the ability to lend direction and a caring attitude to your patients. You will also assist and monitor assigned residents with activities of daily living based on current nursing standards of practice and with a heart for our mission.

Some of what you'll be doing includes:- Actively participate in the resident’s care plan for the purpose of improving the life and maintaining the safety of each resident.
- Support and encourage the resident’s involvement in decision making, regarding their daily activities.
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data in electronic medical records, including documenting intake and output records. Complete charting daily.
- Observe and report any changes in resident conditions to the Licensed Nurse. Document any observations in the resident’s electronic medical record.
- Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel RN.
- Perform daily living care activities including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, eating, assisting with monitoring/feeding of meals and nourishments encouraging liquids. Provide care in accordance with the specific needs and requirements of each resident as outlined in the care plan.
- Assist residents with positioning, transferring, and ambulation.
- Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel. Assist with range of motion exercises.
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotions to intact skin, etc., under the direction of the licensed nurse.
- Monitor resident’s equipment for any equipment failures. Notify maintenance in the event a work order is needed.
- Utilize Hoyer lifts, oxygen tanks, scoop stretcher, or special equipment as needed to perform resident care.
- Respond to call lights, internal and external emergencies, and facility codes; remedy situations within scope and alert RNs/LPNs of alarms sounding. Initiate basic lifesaving procedures.
