SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT:
Assist in preparing and serving meals, clean up, and related food service duties as required.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
* Understand and support the educational environment and the District's mission, vision, and Strategic Plan.
* Model appropriate and cooperative behavior while fostering and maintaining strong and productive relationships with District employees, community members, and identified stakeholders.
* Participate in professional growth activities and reflect and respond to suggestions for professional improvement.
* Participate as a member or facilitator in meetings, workshops, and seminars that may involve a wide range of issues such as goals attainment, problem resolution, and District operations for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job duties.
* Recommend solutions to a wide variety of issues for the purpose of addressing the short and long-term needs of the District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Performs a variety of duties in the preparation of, serving, transporting, and cleaning up after meals.
* Cashier's meals/snack bar.
* May be required to prepare food service receipts.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lb.).
Experience in handling money and operating a cash register preferred.
Ability to stoop and climb as necessary.
Ability to relate to students, staff and parents.
Ability to operate computers and copiers.
Achieve minimum acceptable levels/scores in reading, writing, math, and technology assessments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous school food service experience in quantity cooking preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possess a current food handlers card.
May be required to have a valid State of Washington Driver's license.

Work Year: 201 days (including paid holidays that fall within the school year)

Hours:
Eight (8.0) hours per day, Monday - Friday plus a 30-minute duty free lunch
Schedule:
5:30am - 2:00pm, Monday - Friday
Salary: 2025-26 PSE Salary Schedule A ($25.86 - $28.95 DOE)
* Will be paid at 2026-27 rate

Director of Nutrition Services
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job duties involve sitting, walking, standing, stooping, crouching and climbing. May be exposed to high noise levels. May be required to deal with distraught students. Work is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
BENEFITS:
For on-call positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by a number of factors, including the number of hours an employee worked during the last two (2) school years (September 1 through August 31). Some on-call positions may not be benefit eligible. Benefits are administered through the Payroll Department. Additional information is available on their district webpage. Regular employees who are not in on-call positions and are anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability and the employee assistance program.
