Job Goal:
Ensuring that all students attain their potential through effective evidence based instruction.

Reports to:

School Principal and/or his designee

• Plan, organize, and implement appropriate instructional lessons that guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
• Teach subject matter (reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, music, applied technology, etc.) utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education.
• Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilize effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences.
• Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in instruction.
• Control the storage and use of district-owned property; make minor adjustments and request repairs as required.
• Maintain classroom organization and discipline; establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Provide and maintain a safe and supervised environment in the classroom and on the school grounds.
• Devise and utilize techniques that accurately measure student progress.
• Evaluate student academic and personal growth, keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports.
• Communicate with parents through conferences and other means discussing academic and personal progress; interpret school programs.
• Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff in academic and personal growth areas.
• Conform to District policies, including attendance, absences, and evaluations.
• Attendance must be adequate to acceptably perform listed job functions.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information in the school environment and community.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with principal, supervising teacher, students, parents, staff and public.
• Teachers can be moved to other classrooms or campuses as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
