Job DescriptionBusiness Education Teacher
Job GoalEnsure all students develop essential business, technology, and career‑readiness skills through effective, evidence‑based instruction that prepares them for postsecondary education and the workforce.
Reports ToSchool Principal and/or designee
Primary ResponsibilityPlan, organize, and deliver engaging business and technology instruction that equips students with practical skills in areas such as business operations, finance, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy in a supportive learning environment.
Essential Job Functions- Teach business education courses such as keyboarding, business communication, accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, personal finance, and computer applications using curriculum approved by the Board of Education.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate academic standards, real‑world applications, and career readiness skills; adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Utilize business software and technology tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, and industry‑related applications) to enhance instruction and student learning.
- Prepare students for industry certifications, workplace expectations, and postsecondary education opportunities where applicable.
- Maintain and manage classroom technology, equipment, and instructional materials; ensure proper use and request repairs when necessary.
- Establish and maintain an organized classroom environment that promotes professionalism, responsibility, and workplace readiness.
- Set and enforce standards of behavior that reflect business etiquette and employability skills.
- Provide a safe, supervised, and engaging learning environment both in the classroom and during school‑related activities.
- Assess student performance using a variety of evaluation methods; track academic progress and provide timely feedback and reports.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student achievement.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, expectations, and program opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to support student academic and career development.
- Support and participate in career and technical student organizations (CTSOs), internships, job shadowing, and other work‑based learning experiences when applicable.
- Comply with district policies, procedures, and evaluation standards, including attendance and professional responsibilities.
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical behavior, and confidentiality in handling student and school matters.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, business partners, and the community.
- Remain flexible and willing to accept assignments across classrooms, programs, or campuses as needed.
- Promote career readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial thinking.
- Encourage development of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving.
- Integrate real‑world business practices into classroom instruction.
Full‑time
Job Requirements- At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Master degree preferred.
