Procurement Officer

Position: Procurement Officer at University of Guelph
Step into a vital role at the University of Guelph as a Procurement and Contracting Officer. This temporary full-time position focuses on maintaining high standards in procurement and contracts while following BPS Procurement Directives.

As the Procurement and Contracting Officer, you will report to the Assistant Manager of Purchasing Services. Your key responsibilities include establishing purchase orders, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing supplier relationships. Additionally, you will analyze purchasing plans and provide training to team members, all while upholding business ethics and enhancing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish purchase orders and review contracts regularly

• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures

• Obtain quotes and source suppliers effectively

• Manage ongoing supplier relationships and contracts

• Conduct competitive sourcing events as directed

Requirements:

• Two-year college degree and three years of experience

• Experience in public sector purchasing preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

• Understanding of purchasing and contract management principles

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
