This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by leading, directing and overseeing the accounting operation for multiple manufacturing sites within the business unit level. Key contributions include the preparation, consolidation and/or execution of the site’s(s) P&L, including monthly, quarterly & annual close process, financial statements, general ledger, material margin improvement, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses.

Responsiblefordeveloping policies, practices and procedures that have significant impact on the organization
Coordinate all audit activity
Oversee the preparation of financial statements & filings in compliance with GAAP& other regulatory standards
Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports inan accurateandtimelymanner; clearly communicatesite level andconsolidatedmonthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of financial status
Support theVP,Financein engaging the board’s audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.
Lead and direct the divisions finance team including creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
Leverage strengths of team memberstohelpclarify roles and responsibilities,develop and implement training programstomaximize and reachoptimalindividual and organizational goals
Align department strategy with organizational goals
Responsible for personnel actions including hiring,performance and termination
Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization
Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by workingin partnership with executive leadership includingvice presidents; continuously collaborate to assess the financial efficacy of program operations andestablishfinance and administrative systemsas asupportsystem.
Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines
Oversee & preparemonthly/quarterlyconsolidatedsupplemental detail in support of monthly financial reportsincludingadhocreports and analyses of division finances thatfacilitatedecision making
All other duties as assigned
Position will be located out of our Whitby, ON Plant and support our Montreal plant.
Qualifications,
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Finance.
Minimum
10years of experience in Financial Management in a manufacturing organization
CPAcertificationand/or MBA preferred.
Proven and effective leadership and management skills
Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
Analyticalthinking,ability to analyze financialdataand prepare financial reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Solid working knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and related manufacturing
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio,Teamsand Outlook
Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyestablishingpriorities to meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able toidentifyproblems andneeds and develop solutions and/or options.
