Cost Accountant

Job Responsibilities

Ensure BOMs and routings are complete for products

Audit BOMs to actual floor performance

Produce variance analysis of products on an ad hoc basis

Collaborate with team in the preparation of complex financial reports

Integral part of month/quarter/year end close activities and financial statements with detailed analysis

Provide support to department leaders through financial and operational analysis throughout the year and applicable budget and forecasting cycles

Liaise with other department personnel

Assist with internal and external financial audits

Create journal entries, reconcile sub‑ledgers for assigned accounts

Other duties as required

Qualifications

Immediate open position

$80,000 - $90,000 annual compensation

Accounting or Finance post‑secondary education required

Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing accounting experience in a fast paced automotive environment an asset

Extensive background in cost accounting and meeting deadlines

Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Macros, VLOOKUP)

Analytical skills backed by high proficiency dealing with data

Ability to tackle loosely defined problems by asking the right questions

Strong organizational skills, comfortable with multi‑tasking and project management abilities

Experience conducting deep dive analysis with large volumes of data

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Previous experience working with Power

BI, SQL, Hyperion, Power Ledger, GSD system and TraX is an asset

Annual Audits (SOX, Magna Year End, Government)

Ability to respect and maintain the confidential nature of the department
