Financial Manager, CFO
Our client is a food manufacturing company that operates three plants and two distribution centres and seeks a Controller to support a multi‑site manufacturing operation. The position is highly operational and serves as the key finance business partner to plant leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting & Analysis (50%)
- Month‑end close and financial reporting
- EBITDA bridge analysis
- Margin analysis and reporting
- Variance analysis
- Financial statement review and presentations
- Operations Support & Business Partnering (50%)
- Partner with Plant Managers and Operations leaders
- Provide operational finance support and insights
- Translate financial results into actionable business recommendations
- Present results and analysis to senior leadership, including the CEO and CFO
- Act as right‑hand to Plant Manager on financial and operational matters
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead accounting team of 5 FTE, coaching, mentoring, and developing staff
- Set goals, train, and manage individual performance
- Engage in regular meetings with senior executives
- Drive process improvement for accounting team efficiency
- Financial Oversight
- Ensure month‑end close process, accuracy, and deadlines are met
- Enforce closing timelines, support partners in efficient close process
- Manage cash flow, report movements, monitor working capital
- Establish and monitor internal controls and regulatory compliance
- Complete balance sheet and variance account reconciliations monthly
- Coordinate treasury, intercompany, and external audit activities
- Operation‑Focused Reporting & Analysis
- Provide operational reporting on yield, labour efficiency, SKU mix, inventory, AFE, cost savings initiatives
- Present financial results to senior executives with concise analysis
- Participate in bimonthly operational review meetings with the CEO, CFO, and COO
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration
- CMA/ CGA/CA/CPA designation and a minimum of 10+ years progressive experience
- Experience in manufacturing, preferably food processing
- Demonstrated controls experience, including operations accounting, costing, and business analysis
- Knowledge of ASPE, with ability to interpret and apply guidance
- Leadership and people‑management skills
$140,000 - $160,000 per year.
