Starting Rate: $43.61;
Four Year Rate: $50.39

Hours: 35 hours per week (1 hour lunch);
Mon – Fri (8:30 am – 4:30 pm, evening or weekend hours may be required on occasion)

Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent is responsible for performing job development, job matching/placement and job retention services through Employment Ontario (EO) Employment Services program. This position is also responsible for facilitating training grants/incentive programs. This position primarily involves job development at the Uxbridge (and north) sites. The position further involves a particular focus on EO participants/clients who lack marketability or credibility in the local labour market.
The incumbent works as part of the Community Employment Services team, which operates in a continuous quality improvement environment. The position requires extensive travel to various locations and may involve hours outside of standard business operation.
- Performing job development, job matching and placement services by
- Provide outreach, cold calls / recruitment to employers to identify opportunities that are available in the competitive job market
- Extensive collaboration with Employment Specialists regarding requirements for potential clients
- Case conference with Employment Specialists to establish appropriate placement/job opportunities best suited to the clients’ needs
- Provide support to employers by identifying skills required and capabilities needed
- Deliver sensitivity / diversity training, workplace accommodation training for persons with disabilities, orientation to workplace health and safety, workplace communication training, AODA and Employment Standards Act
- Match employers’ skill needs and clients’ capabilities and interests either through assisted services
- Place clients into employment placements with and without financial incentives, volunteer, job trial, mentoring and on-the-job opportunities
- Develop on-the-job training plans and agreements, including negotiating and establishing financial incentives
- Monitor placements and/or on the-the-job training agreements with clients/ employers to support success and communicating this information to Employment Specialists
