Position: Waste Program Supervisor at City of Guelph

As a permanent full-time Supervisor in the Waste Program & Technical Services, you will oversee staff and manage operations aimed at minimizing environmental impact. This role demands expertise in solid waste legislation and proficiency in leading diverse teams while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your leadership will directly contribute to the City’s goals for sustainable waste management, enhancing community engagement, and policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to staff, fostering an inclusive workplace

• Manage annual and multi-year operational work plans

• Develop and report on operating and capital budgets

• Champion continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree in Environmental Studies or related field

• Extensive experience in solid waste legislation and operations

• Proven supervisory experience in a municipal setting

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Valid Class G driver’s licence with clean driving record
