309A Electrician - Construction and Maintenance
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and licensed 309A Electrician to join our dynamic team. This position will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within a variety of construction and industrial environments across the Durham Region, Northumberland County, and Peterborough. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical principles, motor control systems, and troubleshooting techniques, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, complying with all relevant Canadian electrical codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical installations, upgrades, and repairs in new construction and existing buildings.
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and malfunctions, including motor control and machine troubleshooting.
Install and maintain motor control panels, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other industrial equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Ensure all work complies with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and other applicable safety regulations.
Conduct site inspections to assess electrical systems and identify potential hazards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
Collaborate with other trades and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Valid Canadian Electrical License – 309A
Minimum 3 years of experience as an electrician in a construction or industrial setting.
Proven experience with motor control systems, troubleshooting, and electrical installations.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and relevant safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial automation systems.
Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
Strong conduit skills.
Ability to work alone and run your own projects.
