Premier Truck Group is seeking a 310T Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic to perform vehicle inspections, diagnose and repair major components, communicate with customers, and maintain shop and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle inspections, troubleshooting and testing to determine required or recommended repairs.

Accurately diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs, including repairing engine failures, mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, and replacing parts and components as required.

Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.

Verify vehicle serviceability and ensure quality repairs the first time by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems as required.

Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean during the repair process.

Contain costs by using warranty; evaluate service and parts options for repairs as required.

Communicate with service advisor and/or dispatcher if additional work is needed.

Aid service writer as needed to write work orders, conduct test rides, interact with the customer, or otherwise guarantee satisfaction.

Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt of parts and supplies.

Maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized.

Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order according to standard operating procedures.

Understand automotive terminology and stay abreast of technology changes in the product.

Follow attendance and punctuality standards, record shift times, breaks, departures for personal reasons.

Follow the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.

Follow all work rules and directions from supervisors.

Uphold non-disclosure and confidentiality policies.

Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company policy.

Attend requested training and company meetings as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Must possess a provincial license such as Red Seal/310T, current in good standing with the respective government agency.

Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); OEM training courses preferred.
