We are currently looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Painter, who is hard-working and trustworthy to join our crew of professionals. Please keep in mind, that this is a physically demanding position that requires body strength and resilience.
Job duties- Review work orders and determine the type and quantity of paint, primer, coating, and materials required.
- Inspect walls, ceilings, doors, floors, service bays, warehouse areas, offices, loading areas, and exterior surfaces before starting work.
- Protect machinery, equipment, inventory, floors, fixtures, and surrounding areas.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, grinding, pressure washing, and removing loose paint, rust, dirt, and oil residue.
- Repair minor cracks, holes, dents, and damaged areas using fillers, patching compounds, sealants, and primers.
- Mix and prepare paints, primers, stains, enamels, and protective coatings.
- Apply interior and exterior paints and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Complete touch-ups, repainting, refinishing, and restoration work throughout the facility.
- Use ladders, scaffolding, and work platforms to access elevated areas safely.
- Maintain painting tools, spray equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Coordinate work with service, warehouse, manufacturing, and office staff to minimize disruption.
- Travel to customer premises within the Greater Toronto Area, as required, to complete painting and maintenance assignments.
- Follow all applicable health and safety procedures, including requirements for personal protective equipment, ventilation, work at heights, and safe handling of paints and chemicals.
- Secondary school diploma
- Minimum 3 years of experience in staining painting, acid coloring, and dyes
- Strong understanding of painting techniques
- Knowledge of using different methods and equipment for dyes, solvent and water based
- Team player, client-focused and adaptable to a variety of projects and environments
- Good knowledge of English
- Permanent, full-time position with scheduled weekdays shifts and occasional weekend shifts
- $36.00 per hour, 30 hours per week
- Occasional overtime may be required with applicable overtime pay after 44 hours of work per week
- Work office: 3 Anderson Blvd., Uxbridge, ON, L9P 0G5. Please note that you may be asked to travel to project sites.
