Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heavy Equipment Technician role based at Stanmore Equipment Ltd. in Uxbridge, ON. The Heavy Equipment Technician will perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles used in rental and sales operations. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues, conducting troubleshooting to identify faults, completing service reports, and ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customers.
The role also involves collaborating with the service team, following company and regulatory safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and occasionally communicating with customers or service advisors about equipment status and repair recommendations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in equipment maintenance and vehicle maintenance, including scheduled servicing and safety inspections.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment and equipment repair, covering mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving equipment performance issues.
- Relevant technical training or certification in heavy equipment, automotive, or diesel mechanics is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to applicable regulations and company policies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working with tools and machinery.
