Durham College is seeking a skilled Electrical Technologist for its Faculty of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship. You will ensure the electrical equipment is safely maintained and assist students and faculty directly. This role involves planning for project materials, performing preventative maintenance, and providing technical support for various electrical programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment
• Assist faculty with demonstrations and academic support for students
• Maintain accurate inventory records and manage purchasing processes
• Coordinate development and maintenance of teaching aids for programs
• Supervise shop operations while ensuring safety compliance
Requirements:
• Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) in Electrician with Red Seal Endorsement
• Minimum 5 years of electrical work experience
• Familiarity with inventory control and purchasing procedures
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficient in computing and technical documentation
