Job Overview

Clarity Care is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with varying abilities so they can lead independent, fulfilling lives within their communities. The Accounting Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, overseeing budgeting, rate development, financial reporting, and auditing.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the accounting close by preparing monthly financial statements and ensuring accurate journal entries.
  • Develop the annual Operating and Capital Budgets to meet the organization’s financial goals.
  • Educate management on budget variances and proper accounting treatment.
  • Supervise the Payroll function.
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate select Accounting & Payroll staff to meet organizational and staff needs.
  • Develop rates for payment related to various services, including Client Care and Supervision, and Room & Board.
  • Assess software needs, organizational alignment and efficiency findings in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Maintain the General Ledger and related reports, including the Chart of Accounts and F9 reports.
  • Prepare ad‑hoc financial reports at the request of Executive Leadership.
  • Interpret complex financial analyses, develop conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Manage the Annual Financial Audit to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in accounting; CMA/CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, including experience with developing Operating and Capital Budgets and preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and supervisory experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger applications; experience with Net Suite preferred.
  • Valid WI driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards; proof of auto insurance required.
  • Must pass periodic WI Caregiver Background Checks, including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks and checks of previous states of residence.
