Job OverviewClarity Care is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with varying abilities so they can lead independent, fulfilling lives within their communities. The Accounting Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, overseeing budgeting, rate development, financial reporting, and auditing.
Responsibilities- Lead the accounting close by preparing monthly financial statements and ensuring accurate journal entries.
- Develop the annual Operating and Capital Budgets to meet the organization’s financial goals.
- Educate management on budget variances and proper accounting treatment.
- Supervise the Payroll function.
- Direct, supervise and evaluate select Accounting & Payroll staff to meet organizational and staff needs.
- Develop rates for payment related to various services, including Client Care and Supervision, and Room & Board.
- Assess software needs, organizational alignment and efficiency findings in collaboration with the finance team.
- Maintain the General Ledger and related reports, including the Chart of Accounts and F9 reports.
- Prepare ad‑hoc financial reports at the request of Executive Leadership.
- Interpret complex financial analyses, develop conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Manage the Annual Financial Audit to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Graduate of an accredited College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in accounting; CMA/CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, including experience with developing Operating and Capital Budgets and preparing and analyzing financial statements.
- Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices and supervisory experience.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of General Ledger applications; experience with Net Suite preferred.
- Valid WI driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards; proof of auto insurance required.
- Must pass periodic WI Caregiver Background Checks, including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks and checks of previous states of residence.
