The teacher will develop and implement a program of professional vocational educational services to students in the area of Food Service Production in order to meet their assessed individual vocational needs. This include teaching a total of six (6) class periods each day in the Institutional Food Service Production Program which may include, but is not limited to the following:
Basic Foods 1 & 2, Food Service Math, Baking, Sanitation & Safety, and Internship.
The teacher will complete, in a timely manner, all required documentation, student assessment/progress and other reporting requirements.
The teacher will monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffings, meetings and serve on both school and institution committees as well as serving effectively as an interdisciplinary team member for a housing center. The teacher will, upon request, provide training to other staff, interns, etc. and engage in specialized instruction and special projects.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 with a starting pay of $30.01/hour - $35.06/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.
This position may receive supplemental (add-on) pay adjustments for additional credits relevant to the position that are over and above the credits needed for certification. This add-on ranges from $0.97/hour to $2.97/hour of additional pay, based on relevant credits and professional development actions, as allowed in Section A (4.12) of the Compensation Plan.

Job Details
Anticipated schedule will be Monday - Thursday 11 AM to 7 PM, and Friday 7 AM to 3:00 PM (Straight 8-hour shift). This position is FLSA Exempt. This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Must possess current Serv Safe Certification at time of hire and maintain certification throughout employment. Employee will be required to obtain and maintain certification as a Serv Safe Proctor.
* At least 3 earned credits towards an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree
* Candidates without a Bachelor's degree will need to continue to make progress towards a Bachelor's degree at a rate set by the department to maintain employment. Credits are obtained at employee expense.
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
* At least of two years (4000 hours) of occupational experience related to food production.
* Experience training or teaching others skills and tasks related to food production
