Key Responsibilities- Oversee TRIO SSS and SSS STEM program communication and social media (25%); supervise the Communication Intern; manage newsletters, flyers, and social media platforms; develop social media strategies; schedule posts; produce content; assist with website management.
- Support program objectives of the TRIO SSS/SSS STEM Grant (5%); recruit eligible students; obtain documentation; advocate for first‑generation and limited‑income students; serve on campus committees and events.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a first‑year experience program to increase engagement, persistence, retention, and success of new students (35%); facilitate learning opportunities through a Canvas course; create curriculum; provide financial literacy awareness; collaborate with campus partners.
- Recruit, hire, and manage the First‑Year Experience Student Leaders and Student Ambassadors (30%); provide training (FERPA, UW Student Code of Conduct, Mental Health First Aid); conduct weekly check‑ins; supervise job duties and performance; train staff for handling student concerns per FERPA.
- Engage in recruiting, identifying, and enrolling eligible students during UW Oshkosh’s Titan Takeoff Orientation and support academic advisors and the Student Success Coach.
- Maintain program files in compliance with federal regulations and institutional policy.
- Work evenings on a weekly basis and weekends during both academic year and summer on an occasional basis.
Starting at $45,000 commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or related field.
- Experience working with educational programs with marginalized, underrepresented student populations.
- At least one year of supervisory experience in an educational setting.
- Experience with social media platforms and creating media content.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and off‑campus constituents.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or related field.
- Experience supporting the needs of first‑generation, income‑eligible students.
- Experience with curriculum development using a learning management system such as Canvas or Blackboard.
- Knowledge or experience with Student Support Services (SSS) and/or other TRIO programs.
United States citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with appropriate work authorization are required. The University does not offer H‑1B or other visa sponsorship.
